I would like to tell you about our great village name Kityari. It is the one of most beautiful village in Dir valley, surrounding by green hills, waterfalls and stream, most houses of the village consists of mud and a few other houses built of bricks.

Kityari have a great connection with other villages and cities through a plane rode, name Asband rode, which was constructed in 1972; after that the supply of electricity and telephone is also done.

In Kityari about 4000 (1500 female, 2500 male) villagers lives there, most of them are poor and its per day income is less than 5 dollar. The population of a village consists of agriculturists and a group of artisans like carpenter, goldsmiths, shoemakers, some have a government job well, but now a day younger are interesting to go and get employment in the other country like Middle-East etc.

The main concern of the people in village is to grow food and other crops, their mostly interest is the welfare of their land. The nearest market-town is Chakdara and Batkhela which away 25 and 28 km from Kityari respectively, these market can supply their needs.

They also sell their surplus wheat, rice, tomato and other commodities in these markets. The people of Kityari are innocent and so peaceful they lend their life in a simple manner that’s the specialty of this village.

The 1st language of the villagers is Pashto and national is Urdu but someone can speak English well especially those who are educated. Education level of the villager is not too better yet, most of the elder men and women are illiterate because in their time there were no infrastructure for education due to wrong ruling (Nawabizem 1924 to 1962), but recently government does better in Kityari and their surrounding mean, constricted schools for boys and girls.

The education level of the villagers of Kityari is now about 80% especially of the younger. Government goes a head to increase the education level in villages, for that reason government support to the NGO and other organization to do this. Due to this now any one can educate their self freely in government or NGO institutions.

Most of the villagers are Muslim, they pray five time in the day, and they are so honest in his all dealing because they are Patan, which are famous for their honesty and hospitality.

The average lending life of the villagers is 60 to 75 year. In the summer the temperature of the village goes up to 30 to 35 C and in winter the temperature remaining in 20 to 25 C but actually winter is so hard in the village.

In Kityari the villagers are enclosed in six tribes, which name Khemal Kheal, Sharga Kheal, Surkamaree, Malakendee, Boneree and Muolan. They all cooperate with each other and lives as brother. So for that reason it is a nice place to be live for ever.

For centuries the villagers have been organized around their elders. Sometimes the elders did not hold authority just because they were, and are, senior by age, but also because of their worldly wealth or honesty and the number of males in their immediate and extended families or group. In most cases it was, and in some instance still is, a very satisfactory way of running the affairs of that area.

The rate of crime in the villages is much lower than in the settle areas. There are no lengthy and costly litigations regarding land and other forms of property. They have an unwritten legal system, which operates very swiftly and positively. They have almost hereditary. In spite of all that the social system in the village's belt is ancient and cannot cater to the needs of modern life.

Lets visit to the gallery (especially our villagers) and enjoys the images of our village, but don't forget to write comments and give his opinion about this website for further betterment.
